Artistic Sandra

Sandra Pacheco was born in Chicago IL, USA. Her parents moved the family back to their native Colombia when she was 7, where she lived mostly in Bogotá and a small town called Villa de Leyva, Boyacá. Sandra had a love for the Arts since she could hold a pencil, she remembers spending hours with color pencils on paper and making her own creations for her paper dolls complete with tabs to secure the new outfits. She also remembers having a small suitcase full of Barbies and beautiful clothes, but her preference was to make clothes out of scrap fabric from her mother’s projects’ leftovers. Sandra’s mother was also very artistic and her biggest cheerleader.
At the age of 19, Sandra went to Bauder College in Fort Lauderdale for Fashion Design but did not finish because at the time she was on her own and working demands made it very difficult, so she dropped out after a year and a half. At the age of 22, Sandra took a weekend course for 2 months at the local arts and crafts store on how to paint portraits and started doing celebrities as a sample to showcase at art fairs. That’s how she got a few commissions not just for oil portraits but also for murals.
At 28, she met her husband who rode a Harley Davidson, and she noticed the beautiful airbrush art that was done on so many bikes at different events. She decided to learn the skill and painted on motorcycles, boats and cars, which was a fun pursuit for about 10 years. That was until she moved to Indiana and during her first winter, she realized she needed to change the way she was making a living because automotive airbrushing is best done in warmer climates unless you have a state-of-the-art paint shop. So she switched gears and started tattooing, did that for 17 years.
Recently, in March 2022, Sandra decided to take a hiatus from tattooing and now this is her new baby. Sandra is very creative and also loves crafting, as you can see now she has a line of hair barrettes and wall hooks inspired by the coastal living she’s enjoyed mostly since 1986
